# Canva Presentation Pro

Canva Presentation Pro turns a rough outline into a complete, build-ready deck: per-slide copy, a layout recommendation, the right chart type for each data point, image art direction, and speaker notes — all consistent with your brand. It's aimed at founders writing investor pitches, AEs assembling sales decks, and anyone producing webinar, course, or all-hands slides who wants structured slide specs instead of a blank canvas.

## When to use it
- You have bullet points or a Google Doc outline and need a 10–15 slide narrative arc.
- A seed/Series A pitch where slide order (problem → solution → traction → ask) matters.
- Recurring decks (weekly sales reviews, monthly all-hands) you want kept on-brand.
- You need speaker notes that match what's on screen, not improvised talking points.

## What it does
The skill produces a structured slide plan, then hands it to Canva through the Connect API. For each slide it returns: a layout choice, headline + body copy trimmed to fit, a chart selection (bar for comparisons, line for trends, donut for share-of-whole) with the data mapped in, image direction, and presenter notes.

When you connect a Canva account, it uses `generate-design` / `generate-design-structured` to create the deck, applies your brand via `list-brand-kits` and brand templates (`search-brand-templates`, `create-design-from-brand-template`), writes notes with the presenter-notes endpoint, and exports through `export-design` (PPTX, PDF, or PNG). Existing decks can be revised with `start-editing-transaction` → `perform-editing-operations` → `commit-editing-transaction`.

## Usage example
```
curl -fsSL --create-dirs -o ~/.claude/skills/canva-presentation-pro/SKILL.md https://claudeskil.com/skills/canva-presentation-pro/SKILL.md
> Build a 12-slide seed pitch from this outline. Brand kit "Acme 2026".
> Outline: problem, our wedge, demo, $40k MRR + 18% MoM, GTM, $1.5M ask.
# Returns slide-by-slide spec, then on confirmation:
#   - creates the Canva design via generate-design-structured
#   - charts the MRR/MoM growth as a line chart
#   - exports PPTX + shareable Canva link
```

## Tips & gotchas
- Brand kits require a Canva Pro/Teams plan; on free accounts the skill falls back to a neutral theme and flags it.
- Charts are populated from data you provide inline — paste real numbers in the outline, or it leaves placeholder values you'll have to fill.
- Edits to an existing deck must be wrapped in an editing transaction; an uncommitted transaction will appear to "do nothing."
- Exports are async — the skill polls the export job, so large decks take a few seconds to return a download URL.

## FAQ
**Can it edit a deck I already started in Canva?** Yes — give it the design ID or share link and it resolves it (`resolve-shortlink`), then edits in place rather than regenerating.

**What formats can I get out?** PPTX, PDF, PNG, or a live Canva link. PPTX preserves editable text and speaker notes.

**Does it need my Canva login?** Generating or exporting requires an authorized Canva Connect connection. Without it, you still get the full text/layout/chart spec to build manually.
