# Canva Template Designer

Canva Template Designer turns a one-line brief into a complete, build-ready template specification: a layout grid, color palette, font pairing, type hierarchy, and exact element placement. Instead of staring at a blank canvas, you get a numbered build guide you can recreate in Canva in minutes — or hand to a teammate or a brand kit. It is aimed at marketers, social media managers, founders, and content writers who need on-brand assets fast without a dedicated designer.

## When to use it

- You need an Instagram carousel, story, LinkedIn banner, or Pinterest pin and want a consistent grid across slides.
- You are spinning up a flyer, one-pager, or pitch deck and need a defensible type/color system, not guesswork.
- You want to standardize a recurring post format (quote cards, product drops, event promos) into a reusable template.
- You have brand colors and fonts already and want a layout that respects them.

## What it does

Give it a brief plus constraints (dimensions or a Canva preset like 1080×1080, brand hex codes, tone). It returns:

- **Canvas + grid**: target size, margins, column/gutter structure, and safe zones.
- **Color palette**: primary/secondary/accent with hex values and where each is applied.
- **Type system**: a heading/body font pairing with sizes, weights, and line spacing for each hierarchy level.
- **Element map**: position and sizing for headline, subhead, imagery, logo, and CTA, described relative to the grid.
- **Build steps**: an ordered, click-by-click guide ("Create 1080×1080 → set background #0E1F2B → add heading, Anton 64pt, top-left margin…").

It outputs a spec, not a live file. When a Canva connector is available, the same spec can drive design creation and brand-template tools; otherwise you rebuild it manually in the editor.

## Usage example

```
Brief: "Minimal sale announcement, Instagram square,
brand colors #0E1F2B navy + #F4B41A gold, bold and confident"
→ Canvas: 1080×1080, 64px margins, 6-col grid
→ Palette: bg #0E1F2B, accent #F4B41A, text #FFFFFF
→ Type: Anton 72/700 heading, Inter 28/400 body
→ Layout: headline top-third, % badge accent block,
  CTA pill bottom-left, logo bottom-right
→ 9 numbered build steps
```

## Tips & gotchas

- Always include real pixel dimensions or a named Canva preset; "social post" alone yields generic margins.
- Pass your exact brand hex codes and font names — the skill respects them rather than inventing a palette.
- The output is a recipe. Fonts named must exist in your Canva plan; some pairings need Canva Pro.
- For multi-slide carousels, ask for a shared grid so slide 1 and slide 5 stay aligned.

## FAQ

**Does it create the design directly in my Canva account?**
By default it produces a spec and build guide. With a Canva connector enabled, that spec can feed live design and brand-template creation tools.

**Can it match an existing brand kit?**
Yes — supply your colors, fonts, and logo placement rules in the brief and it constrains the layout to them.

**What formats does it support?**
Social posts, stories, presentations, flyers, banners, and any custom canvas size you specify.
